Wrap Yourself in Nature

Death Valley Cracked Earth Scarf

Strolling through a museum gift shop I stopped to admire the art scarves. As I soaked in the colors, patterns, and textiles, I saw George’s images emerge in new designs. I’ve always loved textile design and have a background in costume design. A new collaboration with my dad’s photographs was born.

Santa Barbara has made an incredible recovery.  You can now walk on beaches without having your feet covered in oil
The unfurling of my Rhubarb plant's leaves.  I have to say I'm very taken with leaf emergence this spring!

I love looking at George’s images and imagining them in a new design! Above is George’s Chaparral Nightshade photograph and the Silk Scarf created from that image.

And finally, the tiny radish sprouts.  Stay safe little radishes, you will be blanketed with 2-5 inches of snow tonight!

George’s ‘Owen’s Valley Sunset’ photograph into my version as a Silk Scarf.

Even though George is not longer here to collaborate in person, I know he’d love the idea of transforming his images into a new medium. I can hear him say, “Run with it, Deb”

George’s “Buttercup” portrait.
