Looking for Hope in 2021

Magnolia blossoms ready to burst!

I snapped the above photo last Thursday while at the dog park we take Grace. The day, both physically and emotionally, was dark and cast in greys. As the sun briefly came out on a far patch of the prairie, it filled me with a sense of hope. I started to thinking about some of George’s images that instill in me hope and persistence.

The unfurling of my Rhubarb plant's leaves.  I have to say I'm very taken with leaf emergence this spring!

The Bear Poppy and Desert Five Spot, above, persist in blooming in the harsh desert sand conditions.

And finally, the tiny radish sprouts.  Stay safe little radishes, you will be blanketed with 2-5 inches of snow tonight!

George’s “Panamint Daisies” reaching for the sky, rooted in the desert sand, fills me with renewed hope. May we all persist in working for justice for all our citizens and our natural world.
