This morning ‘s Chicago Tribune front page greeted me with a headline at the bottom of the page, “What might be ahead for birds, fish, and trees facing Illinois’ changing climate”. Not surprisingly, the article let me know how much more rain we have had in the spring, and how much hotter it has become in the summer. We will see species of trees, birds, fish - and more - shift and either move further north, or die out.

In California’s Death Valley, Will sightings of the desert Bear Poppy become even more rare due to lack of rain?

Will the Sierra Fringed Gentian - and other High Sierras wildflowers - not bloom because of more severe high temperatures?

Nature Conservancy is a terrifically important organization - one that George strongly supported from it’s beginning in 1951. Here’s a couple of things you can do:

  1. Take the “What is Your Carbon Footprint?” test. It will help you see where you can make changes in your lifestyle that will in turn help the Earth: Click Here

  2. Make a Donation - Today, for Earth Day! Click Here

May we citizens of the Earth experience a new dawn of commitment to saving our planet. Thanks for listening - or as George would have said, “Now let’s get crackin’”. Happy Earth Day 2021
